Having trouble sleeping at night because you’re making beats in your head? Do you glaze over mid conversation when you hear a jam on the radio? Parents don’t understand that boom boom you like to turn up so loud? If you find yourself nodding, chances are you might have heard about as.

The Red Bull Music Academy brings together DJs and music producers from diverse musical and cultural backgrounds to exchange their ideas about music and their knowledge of how life in the music industry works.

The two-week term schedules aim to cover all major aspects of DJ culture, including music history, technology and production, business and skills. We invite a variety of accomplished international guests - from industry movers and shakers to pirate radio station operators, from turntablists to sonic theorists - to meet our students and tell their own stories in their own words.

Requirements

If you’re planning to showcase your production skills, songwriting ideas or arrangement abilities, then choose a selection of tracks that truly represents you. A handful of favourites are better than a thousand unfinished symphonies.

If you’re going to send us a mix, get your bearings, know your time, and free your mind. While it should be at least 30 minutes long, quality is more important than quantity. Just go for it – and have no fear, you don’t need to be a five-armed six-deck exhibitionist or modify one of Kool Herc’s original 1100A turntables.

Whatever you do, please include a full track listing so that all the information is crystal clear. Your tunes should be on CD, and they should be audio files.

Last but not least, don’t forget to include two photos of yourself: one passport-style front view head shot, and on regular snapshot
